Lynx offers a Twonky SDK for Android which includes the Lynx Media Player for Android TV, which provides a TV-oriented user interface (UI) that is based on the Google Leanback Library.

The Twonky solution enables consumers to discover and access stored content on any UPnP and DLNA compliant digital media server in the home or on the go. The Lynx Media Player also includes Twonky Server to share content stored on the Android TV with other devices in the home.

The Twonky Server enables today’s most advanced media connectivity capabilities in our customers’ products and services. Twonky Server is designed to be embedded in Android TV products and does not require any development by our customers (saving engineering time and related costs).

Standard version: Allows consumers to share media by enabling CE manufacturers to integrate Digital Media Server (DMS) and Mobile Digital Media Server (M-DMS) capabilities into their devices. With Twonky, the CE device will be able to discover other devices and media content as well as to stream for non-DRM protected audio, video and photo media types to supported devices.

Premium Content version: DTCP-IP/PlayReady DRM version for service providers, content owners, content providers and STB vendors. Supports protected streaming of premium content (recorded and live) within the connected home. Both versions of the Twonky Server offer DLNA and UPnP server capability and are developed in the ’C’ programming language to yield efficient binaries.
