PACKETVIDEO, A SUBSIDIARY OF NTT DOCOMO, ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF JAPAN CONNECTED HOME OPERATIONS BY LYNX TECHNOLOGY

Tokyo and San Diego, CA – May 10,2016 PacketVideo (PV), a subsidiary of NTT DOCOMO, today announced the recent acquisition by Lynx Technology of PV’s Japan Connected Home business effective March 27, 2016. The business acquisition also includes the transfer from PV to Lynx of 90% ownership and full rights of the market leading Twonky™ media technology.  This technology ownership transfer supersedes the previous arrangement between the two companies, in which PV granted Lynx an irrevocable, non-exclusive license for Twonky.

The acquisition by Lynx of PV’s Japan Connected Home business comes exactly one year after Lynx acquired PV’s North American and European Connected Home business operations in March of 2015.

Lynx Technology (www.lynxtechnology.com) will continue to develop the Twonky software platform for its customers around the world, including North America, Europe, Asia and now Japan.

“After Lynx’s successful acquisition of our North American and European Connected Home business in 2015, Lynx was the logical choice to acquire our Japan Connected Home business,” said Kazushige Yoshida, CEO of PacketVideo Japan. “Lynx has the experience and capabilities to ensure the smoothest possible transition for our customers in Japan.  That is very important to us.”

“We are honored by NTT Docomo and PV to have this opportunity to establish our Connected Home business in Japan,” said John Driver, Chairman and CEO of Lynx Technology.  “PV’s customers in Japan are among the leading companies in their respective industries, and we are committed to providing them with the innovation, quality and reliability they deserve.”

Lynx Technology is based in San Diego, California and has offices in Berlin, Germany; Tampere, Finland; and sales operations in Tokyo, Japan.
