Winter 2018

Lynx provides device connectivity software that allows consumers to quickly and securely discover and enjoy their media libraries and smart home devices, while coordinating and controlling them from any mobile device.

Lynx MiND™ Bronze Prototype Program

Our Bronze Prototype program provides access to prototyping a device with an OCF Certified solution at a low cost with minimal risk. The program is geared towards any Gateway, Router, NAS, STB, or Home Control Vendor with an interest of entering the smart home market.

Prototype devices will gain access to the following deliverables.

  • Demonstration of Use Cases with OCF Certified Devices
  • Lynx MiND Engine
  • Lynx MiND Reference App
  • Lynx MiND API Documentation
  • Lynx Cloud Service

OCF Certified Lynx MiND™Release

In January, we announced the general availability of Lynx MiND™. Lynx MiND is an Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) certified smart home solution, which utilizes a small footprint implementation of the IoTivity framework, IoTivity-Constrained, and is ideally suited for smaller, resource-constrained devices.

The following key features are unique to the Lynx MiND™ platform.

Discover and Manage Heterogeneous Smart Home Devices

The Lynx MiND Engine discovers all OCF compliant devices, as well as non-OCF compliant devices that are supported via a software bridge.  All discovered devices can be controlled, placed in collections and scenes, and used in rules together.

Single Control Interface for All Smart Home Devices

Use the Lynx MiND app (or enabled app) or web UI to turn on and off lights; control a smart thermostat, security cameras, light bulbs, door locks, appliances and other devices; create collections, scenes and rules to enable automation.

Rules Based Smart Home Automation

The Lynx MiND Engine includes a rules engine that allows end users to create, edit, delete, enable and disable rules. For example, if the mobile device running the Lynx MiND enabled app leaves the home, and the motion detector doesn’t detect motion in the home -- Lynx MiND can automatically lock the doors, shut the power off to select appliances, turn off the lights and activate the security system.

Fast Response Time

Because the Lynx MiND Engine is installed on the local network, all device actions execute with sub-second timing.  Rules are stored locally so defined actions are executed nearly immediately after the triggering event.

Licensed API

All Lynx MiND functionality is available through a documented, licensed API so that customers may build their own apps or integrate functionality into their existing apps.
